Harper Should Not Politicize Courts Says Supreme Court Chief Justice

Canada's Supreme Court Chief Justice Beverley McLachlin is warning against tainting the process with politics because the court is not a "mirror" of Parliament. The warning reported in the Montreal Gazette comes before PM Stephen Harper has to choose a replacement Judge for Canada’s Supreme Court. His choice will come as a test for Harper as the social conservatives in his party will expect an appointment that will not lean to favouring abortion rights for women.
